An apprenticeship application is made at the guild. Master and apprentice sign the ledger together; the guild register reports the row number to the record office. Under the rule of four hundred a master's apprentices are limited in number; when the limit is reached the guild opens a waiting row. This service is carried out only at Valen record offices. No online application is taken.
The procedure is published in full — who declares, where, and within how many days. This is not a lack; a fake login would be a lie.
